$32,000 donation to Help mend Hearts

Presented Dr. Yashu Coe and the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation $32,000 to fund specialized medical equipment and supplies for 2013 at the Mazankowski heart institute.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Evan Ty Jenkins Pediatric Research Foundation O/A Treasure Life, we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas 2012 and a Happy & Healthy New Year for 2013.

We would like to provide a short update on our accomplishments to date and sincerely thank you for your past and continued support. We could not succeed in delivering our programs to these very special children without the support of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and participants.

 

TO DATE WE HAVE DONATED $112,000 to the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation to fund educational materials, research and special medical equipment for children to use at home when they leave the hospital, helping to reduce time spent in the lab or hospital;

TREASURE BEAD PROGRAM at the Stollery Children’s Hospital for children to track their journey by collecting special unique beads for medical procedures annually and is now available to Cardiac Kids, PICU and NICU and Neurology children;

FUNDED a “Make A Wish” trip for a cardiac child (cost $8,000) from monies raised through our annual Skate-A-Thon held on Feb 14 each year;

PURCHASED a mini echo machine (VSCAN) at a cost of $6,900 for Cardiologists at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, helping to make initial diagnosis less invasive for the children.

PROVIDED electronic gaming systems and games (Sony and Nintendo) and high resolution televisions for the Cardiac Clinic;

Dec 20/12– Check presentation to Dr. Yashu Coe and the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation for $32,000 to fund specialized medical equipment and supplies for 2013.

Feb 12 & 13/13– Casino Edmonton (Argyll) – we are looking for volunteers to fill day and night shifts so please respond if you can help us to help the kids. This event will help us to raise $60-70,000 and assist us in fulfilling our objectives going forward.

Feb 14/13-Annual Skate A Thon at the Ken Nichols Regional Recreation Centre in Beaumont.

May 31/13– 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Coloniale Golf Club in Beaumont. As usual, we are looking for golfers, sponsors, prize donors and volunteers for this wonderful fun-filled event.

We are very proud to be able to assist Cardiac Kids at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and make their medical challenges just a little bit easier.
